I have talked with this woman from Russia for 7 months now and no mention of money until now. She said a rain storm did damage to her apartment and she needs $500 to fix it. She had told me in an earier email that she was renting. I said her landload should fix it and she said she had to or her rent would go up. I think this is the start on the scam for money, but am not sure. Can anyone shed some light on this or give me a site that might have a list of scammers from around the world. Thanks!

Cease conversing with this person immediately. It does indeed sound like she is fixin' to try to take you for financial a ride. I don't know if there is a phone number to report this to, but I think it could be a good life experience for you. I DO know that if you send her any $ you will never get rid of her. I don't think you really want to become her "rich benefactor". But you need to get out now. No explanations are necessary.....you can just be conveniently too busy to talk. It may take a little time, but she will eventually get the message that you've moved on and she will too.

There are alot of on line dating scams from Russia, Nigeria and Ghana. When I receive an email I immediately block them.
