I am going to college in the fall.
3 hours away from home. (Not that far)
Any tips?
What I should bring? What I'll need? What not to share? How much to party? Being social? Boundaries? What not to do at parties? Should I join clubs or teams in my first year or just chill and wait till second year? What to do if I'm bored? How to make friends? Dorm parties? Get to know professors?
Just any tips would help.
Thanks!

Your college years will certainly be very memorable. Year one I would limit your involvement in clubs until you are settled in. Year two join clubs and strive for leadership positions ( I asked to be president in some of my organizations and later was appointed). Clubs and especially leadership look good on your grad school applications, that is if you choose to go that route. Get to know your professors but not too much; enough so that if you have to ask for letters of recommendations it is not awkward.

If you are a tool by nature try not to be in college as you might have to leverage your new friends for jobs after college. All my jobs after college came from friends and people that I met while at school.

Party as much as you can, it is a great way to meat people, relieve stress and overcome boredom. You will meet more people at parties than through your classes.

Major in something practical. You can minor in a field that you are interested in or just read enough books to satisfy your intellectual curiosity in that field.

For the partying, i would say make sure all the work you need is done first, then go to a party, or you have plan. Also, if its with people you don't know to well, don't get drunk. My friend went to a party and she didn't know anyone other than the person that invited her. Got drunk some of the guys filmed her doing something and yeah...... Not very good. I think you should just chill for the first ear, because that one will be the hardest. When you go back for the 2nd year, you will know what to expect and you wont be that worried.

And if I were you, I would get a little safe because if you don't know who your dorm partner is going to be....... you never know

Pack your personal things. Things you cannot live without.

You will need SPENDING money.

Party hard but keep yor head in those books.

Go with you gut feeeling when being social and meeting new feeling. People do get raped on campus.

Do NOT let people pour your drink. Your pour your own drink and keep a eye on it. People do like to slip drugs in drinks.

Well if you wanna be popular on camps I say join some clubs and teams.

College you will never be bored. from school work to parties. it will be alot of thing to do.

To make friends; just be yourself and outgoing. Not everybody gonna like you. I learned the hard way.

Dorm parties can be fun. beware of your surroundings.

Yea you should get to know your professors because if you get a bad grade you cprobablybly talk to them about it and ask for extra credit.

Money wise: food. hygehygiened just budget your money so you can splurge just a little bit.
