Help with new relationship, I'm leaving the country- now what?

Question

A friend of mine and I recently decided to tell each other that we liked each other more than friends. We have dated a few weeks now, and things are getting complicated.
I am leaving the country next month and will not be back for at least 5 years. I’m moving from Australia to the United States, so even visiting will be hard, not to mention heaps expensive.
I feel like I shouldn’t even get involved because it’s pretty impossible for anything serious to happen. But just yesterday he mentioned love, which just makes the situation all stickier. I really like him but i just feel that we are both just going to get hurt since I’m leaving so soon. I almost feel like disappearing for the next month to prevent my feelings from getting too strong.
I guess I should add that he gets frustrated whenever i mention my leaving. He says he wants to make the most of the time we have together.

Next time he mentions "love" or something similar you need to let him know you are not open to a relationship with him or anyone else right now..You leaving for the US for 5 years is a big transition..If you don't stand firm with this attitude you will be sorry and your emotions will become more complicated..

As they say distance makes the heart grow stronger, if the two of you are apart you come to love each other so much more, as when you miss the other your feelings of attachment grow stronger, being so far away makes you worry, fret and think constantly of the other person making the feelings grow stronger and stronger, a cheap and cost effective way of seeing each other is via YIM or MSN messenger with a webcam, or if you're a tight @$$ like me write to each other, send photos and things, doing so will make the 5 years go so much quicker, chances are if he loves you he will wait for you and from what I read he is willing to wait for you to come back to Australia, as long as you stay in contact the feelings you have won't fade, when you come home it will be like you never left.
